About Me

Hi, I'm so glad you're here. My name is Sophia.

I grew up in New York City, raised in the rhythm of my dad's restaurant kitchen. The clatter of woks, the smell of stock reducing, the way the whole room seemed to exhale when a dish came together. Food wasn't just how we ate. It was how we talked, how we welcomed people, how we said things that didn't have words.

I've always believed that a meal cooked from someone's culture tells you more about them than any words could. Something dissolves at a dining table. Distance, unfamiliarity, the effort of small talk. And something warmer takes its place.

Blue Ginger Kitchen is my way of bringing that to you. Every menu starts at the market and ends at your table, somewhere between the Asian pantry I grew up with and the best of what Berlin's seasons have to offer. I want your home to feel the way my dad's kitchen always did: full, loud, a little chaotic, and completely worth it.

I can't wait to cook for you.

A young girl sitting on a red plastic chair, holding a drink and touching her nose, wearing a red and blue dress with a beige underskirt.
A plate of sashimi garnished with sliced red chili peppers and orange fish roe, with soy sauce around the fish. Several glasses with green olives and clear liquid are partially visible around the plate on a wooden table.
A woman with glasses holding a birthday cake with a lit candle in a park during daytime.
A table with an assortment of food including deviled eggs, sliced tomatoes, vegetable sticks, cheeses, cured meats, and a bowl of salad with peas and radishes. The table is covered with a white tablecloth with blue floral patterns.
